Organisasi kompleks banyak mempengaruhi dan mencorakkan kehidupan sosial. Tujuan kursus ini adalah, antara lain, untuk menghuraikan hubungan saling bergantung dan saling mempengaruhi antara organisasi kompleks dan masyarakat. Kursus ini membincangkan pelbagai jenis organisasi kompleks dalam sektor awam dan swasta dari segi struktur dan organisasi, fungsi dan matlamat, persekitaran organisasi, pemusatan kuasa, kewibawaan, gaya kepimpinan, budaya organisasi,tingkah-laku organisasi dan keberkesanan organisasi. Beberapa teori klasik dan moden berkenaan digunakan untuk meneliti kelakuan dan kedinamikan organisasi kompleks. Implikasi perubahan sosial ke atas organisasi dibincangkan dalam konteks proses globalisasi, modenisasi dan kepesatan pengaruh teknologi maklumat dan komunikasi serta e-dagang.
