Kursus ini membincangkan kedinamikan organisasi daripada segi tingkah laku dan interaksi manusia dalam sesebuah organisasi moden yang kompleks dan saling tindak balas mereka dalam proses mengoperasi dan mengembangkan organisasi menjadi lebih efisien dan efektif. Tingkah laku manusia dan organisasi diteliti dalam konteks hubungan organisasi dengan persekitaran dalaman dan juga luaran yang berkaitan dengan pelaksanaan dasar kerajaan; perubahan ekonomi, sosiobudaya dan politik; modenisasi dan industrialisasi; perkembangan teknologi maklumat dan globalisasi. Implikasi kedinamikan tingkah laku manusia dan organisasi ke atas struktur organisasi formal dan tidak formal, amalan pengurusan, strategi pentadbiran dan pengurusan sumber, sistem dan proses komunikasi, budaya organisasi, sistem governans dan penstrukturan dan reengineering organisasi akan ditumpukan. Isu-isu khusus yang berkaitan yang dibincangkan bersama adalah seperti kepimpinan, kuasa dan konflik, rationaliti, alienasi, anomie, kedinamikan kerja berkumpulan, pengawasan dan kawalan, produktiviti kerja, motivasi kerja, prestasi kerja dan peningkatan kualiti kerja. Kes-kes yang relevan di barat dan Asia termasuk Malaysia juga diberikan perhatian dalam perbincangan.
This course focuses on organisational dynamics in terms of studying how people in a modern and complex organization can be made to work more effectively. Human and organisational behavior in the context of the relationship between the organisation and its internal and external environments is understood from the angle of government policy implementation; economic, socio-cultural and political changes; modernization and industrialisation; development of information communication technology and globalisation. Implications of the behavioral dynamics upon formal and informal organisational structures, management practices, administration strategies, administration and management of resources, communication system and process, organisational culture, governance system and restructuring and reengineering shall be focused. Specific issues relating to leadership, power and conflict, rationality, alienation, anomie, teamwork dynamics, surveillance and control, work productivity, work motivation, work performance and enhancement of work quality shall be discussed. Relevant cases in the west and Asia including Malaysia will be given attention in the discussion.
